McSweeney's FAQ
1. How do I order a McSweeney’s subscription online?
You can subscribe to McSweeney’s by clicking the Subscribe link under the McSweeney’s section on the left side of our home page, or by clicking the McSweeney’s button on the top of the site. You'll be asked to set up an account—this will enable you to manage your subscription, change your address, update your email address, things like that.Be sure to write down your username and password for future reference.
2. How do I order a gift subscription?
You can order a gift subscription to McSweeney’s by clicking the Subscribe link under the McSweeney’s section on the left side of our home page, or by clicking the McSweeney’s button on the top of the site. During the ordering process, you'll be asked to set up an account for the recipient, so create a login and password that they can use later. Make sure to put their shipping address in the shipping field and your address in the billing field. At the end of the ordering process, you'll have a chance to send them an email letting them know they've been given a gift.
3. I’d like to send in my address and payment for my subscription. Where should I send this stuff?

5. How do I change my address?
If you have an online account, you can log in to your account by clicking on the CUSTOMER LOGIN button in the upper-right-hand corner of our online store (http://store.mcsweeneys.net/). Once you’ve signed in, you can change your address, login info, email address, etc.
If you ordered your subscription through the mail, or are unable to access your online account, email us at custservice@mcsweeneys.net and we can help you with your account.
Please let us know of any address changes as soon as you can—we want to make sure your issues get to you and not to the person now living at your old address.
6. How many issues in a McSweeney’s subscription?
McSweeney’s is published on a roughly quarterly basis. You’ll receive four issues in a McSweeney’s subscription.
7. How long should I expect to wait for my McSweeney's Quarterly Concern to arrive?
McSweeney's Quarterly Concern comes out roughly four times a year. We send out email notifications when the quarterly ships. If you haven’t provided your email with your order, and want to make sure you’re notified when the issue ships, please let us know: custservice@mcsweeneys.net.
8. I ordered my subscription months ago! Why isn’t it here yet?
There can be some lag time from when you order your subscription to when you get your first issue. For example, if an issue shipped in early June, it’ll probably be about three months until the next issue rolls out. Therefore, if you ordered a subscription in the middle of June, you’ll have to wait a few months before you receive anything in the mail.
9. I received an ERROR notice after I submitted my order. What should I do?
Please make sure to only click the ORDER button once. Often times the error message is a result of a mismatch in billing information, or a small typo somewhere along the line. As a result of the failed transaction, there may be a "pending" or "holding" charge on your card, which does not debit your account and will disappear within a couple business days. This is simply a security measure so that if your identity is indeed stolen, your bank will be able to track down the evil-doer(s).
10. I’ve been a subscriber for a while and just recently set up an online account. My account does not show my current subscription even though I have one. Why is that?
If you are a lifetime subscriber, or ordered through the mail or over the phone, your account was set up by McSweeney’s admin. That means it’s not accessible through the front end of the store. Your subscription exists, though, and all address changes and questions about your account can be sent to customer service: custservice@mcsweeneys.net.
11. Can I order a lifetime subscription?
Unfortunately, we no longer offer lifetime subscriptions.
12. How much does it cost to ship a subscription overseas?
Depending on where you live and which subscription you choose, overseas shipping ranges from $20-$85. We ship USPS.
13. I have an APO address. Can I still subscribe?
We have APO and FPO options in our STATE drop-down menu.
14. My copy of the most recent issue is damaged. Can you send me a new one?
Yes, usually we can. Please send your concern to custservice@mcsweeneys.net.
15. I never got my copy of the most recent issue. How do I check to see if my subscription has expired?
You can check your subscription online (http://store.mcsweeneys.net/) by logging into your account, or you can write us at custservice@mcsweeneys.net.
16. When I track my McSweeney’s issue, why does it say it’s in Illinois? Or South Dakota? Or somewhere I don’t live?
That just means it’s en route to you. You’ll be able to see which cities and states your issue goes through before getting to your door. What a jet setter!
17. Why can't I track my McSweeney’s subscription?
If we have your current email on file, you’ll receive an email with tracking once the issue ships out. Sometimes it takes a few days for USPS to post the tracking in their system. If it’s been a few days and your tracking hasn’t shown up, please email custservice@mcsweeneys.net.
18. Who do I contact if I have other questions not addressed in this FAQ?
