Order FAQs

1.How do I order McSweeney's books or back issues of McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern online?
Our home page shows all of our newer books, still warm from the press. From here you can also access the McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern back issues, the Believer, subscription offers, our backlist of titles, DVDs, gift ideas, the deal of the day, and a bunch of other wondrous things. Unfortunately, anything that’s not available through the store isn’t in stock anymore. You can also find our books, magazine, and quarterly at your local independent bookstores and a few of the bigger chains.

2. I received an ERROR notice after I submitted my order. What should I do?
Please make sure to only click the ORDER button once. Often times the error message is a result of a mismatch in billing information, or a small typo somewhere along the line. As a result of the failed transaction, there may be a "pending" or "holding" charge on your card, which does not debit your account and will disappear within a couple business days. This is simply a security measure so that if your identity is indeed stolen, your bank will be able to track down the evil-doer(s).

To place the order, you can either wait and try again, or contact customer service: custservice@mcsweeneys.net and we’ll make sure your order is all set. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

3. There is a broken link! I can't order the book or magazine that I want! What do I do?
If you’re unable to order online, we suggest that you close and restart your web browser. If that doesn’t work, please email us: custservice@mcsweeneys.net and we’ll help you with your order.

4. I just signed up for the McSweeney’s Book Release Club—can I swap one of the titles for a different one?
Unfortunately, no. We can’t swap titles in the Book Release Club. It gets dangerously complicated, and we really just want to make sure you get all of your books.

5. How can I change my address?
If you have an online account, you can log in to your account by clicking on the CUSTOMER LOGIN button in the upper-right-hand corner of our online store (http://store.mcsweeneys.net/). Once you’ve signed in, you can change your address, login info, email address, etc.

If you ordered your subscription through the mail, or are unable to access your online account, email us at custservice@mcsweeneys.net and we can help you with your account.

Please let us know of any address changes as soon as you can—we want to make sure your issues get to you and not to the person now living at your old address.

6. I have an APO address. How do I order?
We have APO and FPO options in our STATE drop-down menu.

7. How much does it cost to ship orders overseas?
Depending on where you live and which subscription you choose, overseas shipping ranges from $20-$85. We ship USPS.

8. What are your different shipping options and how do they work?

International
USPS International —We ship all foreign subscriptions this way, and recommend it for all overseas orders. Please allow 2-6 weeks for your order to arrive.
DHL International — This is significantly more expensive, but is faster and provides tracking information. Most countries take 1-2 weeks for delivery. Please also note that customers are responsible for any additional fees incurred by DHL.
Domestic
Note: Our warehouse is in New Jersey, and your proximity from there may affect delivery times.
USPS Media Mail —This is the cheapest option and takes about 3-14 business days.
USPS Priority Mail —1-5 business days. This option may be slightly cheaper than DHL. PO Box addresses must use this for expedited shipping.
DHL Ground —1-5 business days, with tracking provided. It is usually the same cost as USPS Priority, but is occasionally more.
DHL 2nd Day Air —Please factor in a day or two for our warehouse to package your merchandise.
DHL Next Day Air —Please factor in a day or two for our warehouse to package your merchandise.

9. I’ve heard you have a newsletter with information on upcoming McSweeney’s/Believer books, events, various deals, and subscriptions. How do I sign up?
