Past Subscribers of the Week!

Ed Brach, Subscriber of the Week
Ed Brach doesn't have a TV antenna, cable, or satellite. He does have a fine home theater system to watch his over 1,500 movies on. He is an inventory control specialist for a national baking chain. Both he and his dog like Mexican food.

Amy Busch, Subscriber of the Week
Amy Busch usually lives in Louisville, KY. She likes gypsies,
pizza rolls, and pictures of dressed-up animals. She doesn't like putting socks on wet feet, supererogatory long words, or dingy booty.

Scott Donais, Subscriber of the Week
Scott lives in Toronto. For years he scoured local bookstores for the latest issue of McSwys. Recently, he broke down and subscribed. He's excited that his decision qualified him to be subscriber of the week.

Anna Cassar, Subscriber of the Week
Anna Cassar lives in London's Notting Hill. She first heard about McSwys in 2001 and signed up for the newsletter. She just recently subscribed to both McSwys and the Believer.

Peter Grimaldi, Subscriber of the Week
Peter Grimaldi is one of McSweeney's newest subscribers, having received a very nice Christmas gift this year. He enjoys photography, traveling, pop culture, and drinking wine from up-and-coming regions. Schooled as an architect, he's currently selling his soul as a creative director in retail. He promises it won't be for too long. Speaker of five languages and reader of three, Peter looks forward to receiving his first new book release.

Shawn Clark, Subscriber of the Week
A long time ago, in a wild and exotic land called Texas, Shawn Clark was born. He is a man of many accomplishments. Besides being named Subscriber of the Week, he also once fell backwards out of a treehouse without being hurt. He is also a man of many failures. He once tried to read "Getting Things Done," by David Allen, but couldn't actually finish it.

Alyssa Schwartz, Subscriber of the Week
Alyssa Schwartz hails from the Bay Area, where she once worked at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park, and once interned at 826 Valencia. Now, she lives in London, where she is training to become a Montessori teacher. She thinks McSweeney's represents the power to change the world with the written word. We think she's batty, but still made her our subscriber of the week.

Dylan Michael Little, Subscriber of the Week
Dylan Michael Little thought that the Believer was going to have up-to-date speculation as to the exact time and place that the rapture would begin. He was disappointed, but continued to read with the zeal of a thousand burning horses. Dylan likes to play whiffleball on top of parking garages. He loves his friends and family, and his favorite person is Bean Tooth.

Charles Fairbanks, Subscriber of the Week
Charles Fairbanks grew up in rural Nebraska, very near the mathematical center of the United States. He is now an artist in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A serial McSweeney's monogamist, he's currently curious (though skeptical) about multiple-subscription polyamory. He enjoys wrestling and photography.

Paul K. Lawton, Subscriber of the Week
Paul K. Lawton is a PhD student in Calgary, Alberta. Working in a windowless office, McSweeney's is his sole source of light (and in the harsh prairie winters, his only source of heat). Justin Taylor's recent Believer article on the Codex Seraphinianus was consumed over half-a-dozen times, and he lives for the yearly music issue (the 2007 CD was the best comp ever, he says). Other things that Paul obsesses over: vinyl, the CBC, and Will Oldham's beard.

Molly MacKean, Subscriber of the Week
Molly MacKean (seen here in the reflection of a large, shiny bean) is a former teacher and current graduate student living in Chicago. She enjoys music and being outside as much as possible. She also pretends that she can rock out on a mandolin, even though she plays terribly. She is happy to be the subscriber of the week, and hopes that this week will last at least eleven days.

J. Campbell, Subscriber of the Week
J. Campbell (seen here with Dave Bielanko of Marah) lives in Nashville, where he works within the publishing apparatus. He feels the new Zbigniew Herbert translations are good but could be better and thinks Nick Saban is worth every penny. His pal Carrie is the coolest person he knows.

Christina Cupertino, Subscriber of the Week
Christina Cupertino lives in Brazil, where she works as a psychologist. Her love for Nick Hornby led her to the Believer, through which she discovered Wholphin and the quarterly. Now, she subscribes to all three publications. Issue 19 is her favorite McSweeney's. This is a photo from her office window.

Katie Anderson, Subscriber of the Week
Katie Anderson lives in Minneapolis and doesn't mind the winters, since they're not as bad as the ones in her hometown of Fargo, ND. She works in the public relations industry, but is
a writer at heart. She adores Hunter Thompson and Ralph Steadman. She enjoys getting her McSwys packages, and appreciates our customer service.

Christopher Roeleveld, Subscriber of the Week
Christopher Roeleveld is a faithful McSweeney's subscriber, licorice lover, and part-time stamp collector. He works at a design firm in Chicago, where he is currently "getting his wings". His pet peeve is unknown wetness.

Michael Aquino, Subscriber of the Week
Michael Aquino is an actor, musician, and artist who resides in Bloomfield, NJ. By day he is a street performer at Ellis Island. At night, he works on music (of the acoustic kind) and performs around NY/NJ. He subscribes to Wholphin and looks forward to Issue 4.
