RARE TORSO: TUCKER NICHOLS’S SKULL T-SHIRT
This Rare Torso T-shirt is sold out! Watch for more Rare Torso limited-run artist shirts throughout 2024.
Introducing Rare Torso, offering limited-edition T-shirts by contemporary artists, benefiting free programming at youth writing centers nationwide!
Our first Rare Torso shirt comes from Bay Area luminary Tucker Nichols, supporting the Young Authors Greenhouse, a member of the International Alliance of Youth Writing Centers. The Young Authors Greenhouse serves students ages 6–18 in Louisville, Kentucky. The shirt’s striking design is available on short-sleeve tangerine and salmon shirts, or a long-sleeve mustard yellow, and is perfect for nearly all skull-based occasions.
Tucker Nichols’s work has been featured at the Drawing Center in New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Denver Art Museum, Den Frie Museum in Copenhagen, and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. A show of his sculpture Almost Everything on the Table was recently on view at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. He is currently an Artist Trustee at SFMOMA. Together with his brother Jon, he wrote and illustrated the McSweeney’s children’s book Crabtree, and he also illustrated the Dave Eggers’s book This Bridge Will Not Be Gray. Watch for a full artist-retrospective book from us coming in late 2024.
All Rare Torso shirts are hand-printed by Nifty Sign & Print, an artist-run business in Richmond, CA, on 100% cotton fabric with long-lasting and eco-friendly water-based ink.
